Chef Bob is a Culinary Institute of America graduate, following his calling of encouraging cooks of all levels - even the pre-cook! Chef Bob and Halli work at JH Ranch in Northern California. A beautiful, inspiring area tucked away in the mountains.
Running Acme Salt Co is so fun! Chef Bob makes each small batch by hand in a commercial kitchen near their home in Etna CA. As a couple, we package our products together, while Halli takes over for shipping (her most favorite part of the business!). The hand written notes added to every order are just a personal touch they enjoy taking a moment to write. Acme Salt Co attends several expositions each year, it would be great to see you there!
Chef Bob and Halli are excited about the prospects of helping others make tasty food! The expositions they attend are the most fun as it allows them to meet people of all cooking levels. Chef Bob loves to talk shop with experienced cooks and chefs, while also looking forward to every opportunity to encourage timid cooks as well. Cooking should not be intimidating, it is an adventure! Ever wonder why we send gummy bears with your order? Here's the story, one day while Chef Bob was working in the kitchen at JH Ranch , one of the staff kids asked for a treat. Chef Bob handed him a handful of gummy bears, and to his surprise, the next day was a line of kids outside his kitchen waiting to have a handful of gummy bears. It became the Chef Bob signature, so it only felt right to send everyone who orders an Acme Salt Mix some sweets too...
